iWanted an iPhone until it was announced

Apple announced the most revolutionary cell phone/media player ever today.

Then they proceeded to take a huge crap on it by tying the cell phone to a specific cellular service. Even worse, they tied it to Cingular. This is like Ferrari insisting all their auto service be done by Jiffy Lube.

This is going to be a(nother) customer service nightmare for Cingular, as their own techs don't even know how to use regular cell phones, much less something as advanced as as the iPhone. When I bought my motorola V-series phone a year or so ago, it took a month to find someone who could explain how to download an MP3 to the phone.

Thanks Steve, for saving me $500.

Update: Not only will the iPhone only be used with Cingular, it will require a two year contract.

Assholes.

Update 2: How on earth could this get any worse? "Apple and Cingular are taking unspecified steps to make the phone more difficult to unlock and use on other GSM carriers in the US."

Fucking assholes. I am not just pissed about the iPhone now, I am seriously rethinking my next computer Mac mini purchase.
