2006 Kansas Libertarian Voter Guide

Since the state Libertarian party doesn't have a voter guide, I am publishing one. (Their chair says "it's a good idea". Sigh)

House of Rep. 2nd District: Nancy Boyda (D)

There is no Libertarian Candidate on the ballot, and anything that helps unseat the Republican majority in Congress is in our best interests.

Gov/Lt. Gov: Kramer/Hebron (L)

I believe Sebelius has this race locked in being the incumbent and slightly ahead in the polls. She apparently is spending money like crazy as well. There is no strategic advantage to not vote for the Libertarian candidate in this race.

Secretary of State: Rob Hodgkinson (L)

Rob's the state chair of the KS LP, and has a great first name. There is no strategic advantage to not vote for the Libertarian candidate in this race.

Attorney General: Paul Morrison (D)

This is probably the most important vote of the election, next to 2nd District Rep. Kline has clearly established himself as an enemy of civil liberties. Moreover, he is taking advantage of laws that protect religious freedom (by treating churches separately from other entities) and using this to fund his campaign, ironically, to fight against civil liberties.

State Treasurer: Lynn Jenkins (R)

I see no reason to vote out Jenkins. I'd be happy to hear reasons to do so.

Commissioner of Insurance: Patrick Wilbur (L)

There is no strategic advantage to not vote for the Libertarian candidate in this race.

47th District State Rep: James Robert Faris (D)

Based on the literature that inundates my mailbox in his name, incumbent Lee Tafanelli is yet another right-wing nut job.
